China is officially warned by US for its cybercrimes

US is now taking serious steps against cybercrimes of China and has officially warned Chinese Government on their repeatedly cyber attacks on US based website.

From the starting of new year 2013 many United States based famous companies’ website (including Facebook, Twitter, Apple, several Newspapers etc) were hacked through using different sources like malware, Trojan horses, virus or worms. Read my earlier article about the Chinese cyber attacks on different US based companies by a private US cyber security company “Mandiant”. Mandiant report showed that more than 150 US companies and famous institutions/organizations including Banks were hacked and data was theft secretly.

After facing several cyber attacks and had found their bases in China, US seems very serious towards this issue. A high senior White House official today warned china for its cyber crimes and said this is a new challenge for United States of America and this should be eliminated by talking to China. US official forces Chinese government to take necessary actions eliminating cyber attacks originated from China otherwise, it could harm US-China relations. Moreover, Tom Donilon (US security official) forced China to start serious talks with US about this issue.

On the other hand, Chinese government in their response to talks said that China is not behind those cyber attacks and questioned the validity and proof about the reports of Mandiant (Publicly Cyber Security Company of US). Mr. Hua Chunying (Spokesperson of Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs) said, China is always ready to talks but we strongly rejects and persisted that China is behind any attacks. He further said that, China believed in mutual respect and trust with rest of the world and we appreciate meaningful talks on any international platform or any country even US for cyber security issues and to maintain peace.

United States top officials are continuously blaming China over cyber attacks and hacking indirectly on different forums but they don’t blame China directly. Today US have officially forces China to overcome this issue and stop cyber crimes against US. Now information technology officials are in a hope that forcing China will be a good sign for betterment.

A high class security official of US said, we are aware of these attacks and we want to let know China about this and this is not a bad thing. Mandiant report was not published by government rather it came from a private organization that helped government to think seriously and hence, today government has officially forced china to talk on this issue.

Now, we can hope for the best and I am sure talking with China will really gives a good result. It might help in minimizing cyber attacks. Attacking companies and personal computers of different companies is a crime and this issue should be settled by other countries of the world before they got attacked. So be ready and make people ready to counter any possible attacks.

Central Bank of Australia attacked by Unknown hackers

Australian Newspapers and television channels reported today that Australian central bank of reserve has been attacked again and again by some anonymous hackers and data had been lost. On the other hand, Australian Central Bank officials told to the press that Bank was attacked with a cyber attack but not data is theft and none of our system is affected.

Australian newspapers published report about this cyber attack that, the bank is continuously attacked since November 16, 17 to present. Several times Banks computers and systems are hacked and compromised. It might be possible that secret data has been theft from bank’s system. Report says that, Bank was attacked with a malware of malicious software/application attached with an e-mail sent to various members of bank from lower management to middle.

This report was published today on 11 March 2013. Report told that bank is attacked several times and hackers got success many times in bypassing banks official database.

Australian Central Bank in response to the report published in newspapers today told that, Central Bank has its own widespread security measures operational that has made inaccessible these cyber attacks. Our security system is strict and it captured the virus spreading in our system. In short, bank strongly denied that any of its system compromised in recent attacks or any kind of data theft.

In today’s world of information technology, it’s common to attack a government of business websites in any country of the world by some hackers. Many of the countries are blaming that Chinese hackers are behind those attacks but on the other hand China strongly denied this and said that it might be possible that US hackers are doing so.

Australian Central Bank told in a press release today that, the bank has contacted Australian security agencies and Defense officials to make sure the security of its computers and softwares from any possible cyber attacks.

According to the report, this cyber attack was initiated with sending an email with the subject as “Strategic Planning Financial year 2012” and was sent to its lower management to the middle management. Report told that email was sent to many of its staff members but, only 6 of them were affected with it by opening the file which was a compressed file containing a malware of virus. The e mail was sent from anonymous account but was supposed to come from a senior official.

Report further stated the red alarm that it might be possible that Australian Central Bank’s assets and secret information system database patched by hackers and information could be lost.

After the recent attack, Central bank of Australia had taken this as a serious issue and had provided its staff members updated antivirus program that could automatically block those e-mails and web links that might be equipped with malware, virus or worms.

Chinese Hackers are behind Recent Cyberattacks on US Economy and Security, Mandiant Report.

A security firm of USA Mandiant has shocked the world after publishing its report about the attacks of Chinese hackers on US economy and its security in couple of weeks before.

According to Mandiant (security firm) report which was published last week and consisted of 60 pages told that, the Chinese hackers has made a mind to demolish US economy and unfortunately Chinese government is doing nothing as they know everything about the hackers in China.

Mandiant blamed that, Chinese company APT1 is consists of many hackers working together from 6 years (started in 2006) and this group of hackers are being funded by Government of Chinese through People’s Liberation Army Unit No. 61398. I myself can’t say anything about this blame that whether it is true of just a source of pressuring China.

Mandiant further told the media that this group of hackers is working in Chinese popular city Shanghai and like a hidden snake for US economy and security of our nationals. He said there are more than 141 attacks identified on different US companies websites including intellectual property, security secrets and banks accounts of our nationals. Hackers are trying to steal secret data, business documents.

When this hacking was come into known to US officials they said that, we know who are behind this hacking and all the symbols and fingers are going towards China and its likely seems that Chinese Government is hidden behind this. Moreover they said that now it’s up to Obama that he must take some serious action against China and its hackers dangerously.

In last Mandiant report also pointed some necessary points for US government to take some actions seriously like

• Make aware the people, organizations that not are conscious of the scope of this hacking.
• Use full diplomacy actions to put pressure on Chine put down the process because enough is enough now.
• All Politicians and citizens should be given information immediately that how to protect their websites and data before attacks works.

In short, Mandiant report is a wakeup call for whole USA, its economy and security. China is a hidden super power now and trying to demolish USA in order to become worlds no 1 super power. So, US have to be serious in this issue others it’s also come in my mind that China could start its war with hacking instead of weapon.
