Why Microsoft could Sold only 1.4 Million Surface Tablets?

All technology companies are fighting to get high market share by introducing new tablets with advanced technology features. Today, market is highly profitable but a bit inflexible too in gaining market share. Question is that why Microsoft failed in gaining high market share even they introduced highly competitive surface tablets as compared to Apple’s and Samsung tablets.  Answering this question needs to evaluate everything about surface tablets from its launching to the selling points.

According to market analyst, the first problem with this failure was the launching time period of Microsoft Surface Tablet. Microsoft Surface Tablets are powered with Windows 8 and Window RT which were launched in the month of October 2012. According to analyst it was the worst time period for introducing any new thing in the market and hence consumers could not make them familiar to these windows.  Markets analysts noticed that operating Microsoft Surface Tablets requires an orientation or in other words it requires time to completely understand it because of its new Window versions as compared to other tablets already available in the market which are powered with Window 7.

Microsoft Surface Tablet is Microsoft’s first ever introduced Tablet in its history. Keyboard is also available as optional with Microsoft Surface Tablet.

Microsoft Surface Tablet is powered with any of above operating systems (Windows 8 or Window RT), consumers are not even much familiar with those windows and hence people fells difficulty in operating Surface Tablets as compared to Apple’s and Samsung’s Tablets which are powered with Windows 7. Another highly confidential report by BloomBerg said, Microsoft first tablets (Microsoft Surface Tablet) is failed in getting its desired goal in the market.

Today Microsoft is continuously changing its products and features added. Currently Microsoft is working on making windows based tablets for competing tablets available in Android or iOS. Microsoft is working very hard to increase its market share in tablets competitions. Apple and Samsung are market leaders in the field of tablets and Microsoft is an emerging company in this field, hope for the best that entering of Microsoft in manufacturing tablets with its own operating system windows will be beneficial for consumers in quality and price reduction benefits.

Microsoft had sold a million Microsoft Surface Tablets till the end of last year. Market analysts are now predicting a high growth for Microsoft tablets in coming years with fastest markets share, IDC (a research company) reported.

Microsoft should overcome this problem in future in order to get highest attention of consumers in a widest but rigid market. It could be said that now tablets will be manufactured by many other companies for making tablets like Microsoft Surface Tablet. Microsoft has issued licenses to other companies for manufacturing of its operating system. Companies will definitely get benefit of this offer and will make tablets like Microsoft Surface Tablet.
